School tours are great tools to determine whether a school is right for you. After a successful tour season, our general school tours are completed for the 2019/20 academic year. A G&T focused tour is expected later this Spring – if you’d like to receive notifications about this anticipated tour, fill out this form. For further questions about school tours, reach out to the Parent-Teacher Organization VP of Outreach for additional info here.
RANK 282 AS YOUR FIRST CHOICE/RECEIVE PLACEMENT
Once you have toured and ranked 282 as your school of choice, you will receive a letter of placement from the Department of Education. If you are on the waiting list for 282 and PS282 is your top school of choice, email Parent Coordinator, Ms. Collie-Cyrus to determine how you can gain entry to the school, if possible.
Once you have received a seat at PS282, congratulations!! Register as soon as possible to confirm your placement. All registration questions may also be directed to our Parent Coordinator, Ms. Collie-Cyrus.
The PTO typically hosts summer meet ups and other meet and greets for parents as you transition into 282. If you are transitioning to a public school environment for the first time, be prepared for a different experience. Public Schools work with the oversight of the DOE and will sometimes take time to respond to inquiries. Teacher assignments are usually given only one week in advance of school starting.
