Make your voice heard

PS 282's School leadership team (SLT) is currently evaluating whether the Gifted & Talented program is still the best fit for our school community.

This is an important question that touches on racial segregation and educational equity, and affects everyone at the school, whether they are in the G&T program or not.

No decision will be made without the input of our parents, teachers, and staff.  The SLT wants to hear from every member of our community in order to be able to make the best decision for the school.

How to get involved:

Attend a Town Hall

  • December 3rd at 8:30 am

  • December 5th at 2:30 pm

  • December 11th at 6:00 pm

The school will be holding town halls in the auditorium and on Zoom to provide a space for community input and discussion around:

  • What might PS 282 gain through phasing out G&T?

  • What might PS 282 lose through phasing out G&T?

  • What structures and supports could be put in place to address these potential losses?
